J. Scott Smith

J. Scott Smith is a Northern California musician. A multi-instrumentalist with concentration on drums, Scotty has toured the world as a drummer in various bands in the 70's, he opened his own studio in 1987 called TRS, The Recording Studio. There, along with traditional analog tape recording, he honed his skills as a writer, engineer, and sought-after record producer collabing with such greats as Cactus Choir ( Atlantic Records ) and Giraffe, a progressive rock group with Kevin Gilbert. He has shared the stage playing with Cheap Trick, Bon Jovi, Motley Crue and many others

His original songs have garnered many awards along the way, and have been heard on Television and in Movies. In 2007 Scotty created White Rabbit Recording Studio in Campbell, California. The studio offers traditional Protools and boasts a vintage Ampex 16 track tape recorder.
His songs have won him the Billboard Award-2006, John Lennon songwriting contest-2007, and a host of others. He has 3 self produced Cd's, and has recorded along side Rick Derringer, Mickey Dolenz, Dave Grusin, and members of Tower of Power.

He resides in Northern California and continues to produce young talent and write commercial songs for licensing.
